MINI Cooper S with Prototype Driving LightsPrototype fitting of halogen driving lights onto 2004 MINI Cooper S. Photographs show first attempt at fashioning a bracket and mounting the lights in the grill. First impressions are encouraging, further refinements to the brackets are likely. I'm considering moving the bracket down to the next lower set of grill slats. Moving the brackets down makes for a slightly simpler bracket design. I'm not sure which I'll like better: having the light intersect the top chrome piece on the grill (as shown), or if the lights were more centered vertically within the grill. I'm waiting for the wiring harness, so I can't show the lights lit. Lights will have 12 volt halogens... not sure of the bulbs, could be 35 or 50 watts. Angle of the light is to be determined. The lights will be available in polished aluminum, chrome or black powdercoat. Click on the small images for larger photos
