Swimming Pool Stairs

Pool is in-ground vinyl. I need drop in stairs to replace the original aluminum steps that have been removed.
The depth to the top of the coping is 40". The floor of the stair area is 66" x 39" There is a ridge at 39" that's about 2" high, so if possible the stairs should end before the ridge. If the ridge creates a big problem fitting stairs into the area, we could conceivably leave the stair cutout open and install stairs along the left site wall.
