Oradell, NJ. April, 2004. The Bergen County Players, one of America’s foremost little theatre groups, proudly concludes its 2003-2004 season with Lucky Stiff. In this fast-paced musical, by the creative team that brought us Broadway's "Ragtime" and "Seussical, The Musical," Harry Witherspoon will inherit six million dollars if he takes his recently-murdered uncle on a week-long vacation to Monte Carlo. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn. The proceedings are sheer lunacy in this zany, offbeat, and very funny murder mystery farce as Harry comes up against his uncle's insanely jealous and legally blind mistress, her much put-upon optometrist brother and a zealous representative from the Universal Dog Home determined to see Harry's inheritance "go to the dogs." Not only does the BCP have an interesting past, so does the building in Oradell, NJ that they have called home for the past 59 years, the Little Firehouse Theatre. As the current name suggests, the building was originally used as Oradell’s firehouse until a newer one was built in 1949. In conjunction with its 70th anniversary, and in order to enhance BCP theatergoers’ overall experience, the BCP renovated the Little Firehouse Theatre’s lobby and lounge. TICKET AND SCHEDULE INFORMATION “Lucky Stiff” opens Saturday May 1, 2004 and runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through May 29, 2004 at the: Little Firehouse Theatre
