The boys have been appearing in the Bergen County Players production of Oliver!
Lauren decided that it would be a nice thing to make gifts for the director (Frank Avellino) and the musical director (Joe Scorese).
She based her silver "dog tags" on the logo that Frank designed for the show:
She used Art Clay Silver to sculpt the design, then fired it in our furnace. When the clay is fired it renders in 99% pure silver jewelry.
After firing she tumbled the pieces, and applied Silver Black to add a dark patina.
Add a loop and a leather necklace... and a little personal engraving on the back, and it's done.
Oh by the way... in the original logo, you might see that the "hand print" is of a right hand, and that Lauren's is a left hand print. This was Lauren's way of subtly pointing out that our son Joshua (who plays Oliver) is left handed.
