First Look

BMW R1200C Montana, first look 02/17/01

Because of some scheduling conflicts with an upcoming motorcycle show in NYC, the bike was ready to be picked up from BMW NY in Huntington NY instead of their NYC store. We decided to take a ride out there and take care of the paperwork on the bike and possibly ride it home.

However, the day was very cold, and there were 40 mile per hour winds (no fun when traveling 50 miles, including crossing two major bridges), so we'll let the dealer deliver the bike to us in a few days.

The photos are the first look at the machine. Lauren was particularly pleased to see the passenger backrest (I didn't know it was part of the Montana edition).

I had a Bagster tank cover installed so I can use their modular tank bags.
